Dear Friends,
Again I have to apologize for the long delay in making this
mailing. In this our second year of business we have been extremely
busy with the work of building 2 new websites for CAPcarao Natural
Blood Builder. I have also been working on a third website where we
plan to offer natural organic candies made on our small farm here
in Costa Rica.
LABORATORY ANALYSIS
Part of my reason for delaying
this edition of News and Notes was to wait for the results of our
pending laboratory analysis of CAPcarao by the Chemistry Department
of the University of Costa Rica.
I got the analysis, but one of the results was, in the words of the
laboratory director, "impossible." The value of tannins was far too
high. I was promised a new analysis at no additional cost, but I
have not yet been able to get it from the University of Costa Rica
laboratory, which is in the capital city of San Jose, far from my
home in Guanacaste.
UNIVERSITY STUDY DELAYED
I have been waiting for
months for a study of CAPcarao against human anemia planned by the
Pharmacy Department of the University of Costa Rica. We (Standish
and Co.) are to provide the CAPcarao.
Unfortunately, as is often the case in Costa Rica, there have
been many empty promises. At this point I do not even know when the
approvals committee of the University of Costa Rica (Pharmacy
Department) will get around to voting on whether or not to carry
out the study.
One interesting lead came out of my pursuit of this study. Dr.
Beatriz Badilla, chief of the pharmacy department and the person in
charge of coordinating the planned CAPcarao study, told me that she
learned of a study carried out in Mexico with carao extract for
human anemia. She said that the existence of a previous study with
humans will make it far more likely that the committee will approve
it. Oddly, no matter how much anecdotal evidence there is for a
natural remedy, the policy of the University is to not carry out a
study if there are not pre-existing studies!
Meanwhile, I will devote my efforts to interviewing several of
the vast numbers of Costa Rican doctors who support the use of
carao extract against anemia. They are generally afraid to support
it openly, but I believe that the fear of supporting non-orthodox
treatments is changing drastically here in Costa Rica. One can now
get herbal remedies and acupuncture right in the hospital, paid for
by the state medical insurance, I am told.
UPCOMING NEWSPAPER ARTICLE
I have been contacted by
The Tico Times, the largest-distribution English language newspaper
in Central America, with the idea of writing an article on
CAPcarao. When it is ready, I will send out a special newsletter,
and also announce it on the website.
NEW TESTIMONIALS SUMMARY
There have 4 new testimonials
of cure or improvement of anemia. I will do my best to add these to
the testimonials pages in the near future. (Note that we
customarily withhold the names of customers who send in
testimonials):
1. A lady in Nicoya heard that we had carao extract and sent a
message asking us to take her some. She has suffered chronic anemia
for years. After 3 weeks she reported she is feeling "wonderful"
and sent for another bottle.
2. A woman in California reported her daughter has had very good
response to the CAPcarao.
3. A man in the southeast reported "my wife is getting
better."
4. A neighbor (Marco Tulio Vega) bought CAPcarao for his infant
son, who had a stubborn but mild anemia, unresponsive to iron. He
quickly recovered.
FEEDBACK, PLEASE
If you bought CAPcarao for anemia, we
would be grateful is you would send us your experience, good or
bad. Also, we would appreciate any ideas you may have for
introducing CAPcarao to the world. In particular we are interested
in getting formal medical studies done, for which we are willing to
donate the product.
Sincerely,
Lloyd Standish
